A fully-funded post-doctoral position is available in the Laboratory of Dr. Pei-Yun Jenny Wu
at the Institute of Genetics and Development of Rennes (IGDR), France. Our laboratory uses
the fission yeast Schizosaccharomyces pombe to investigate the control of DNA replication
and the maintenance of genome integrity. We are seeking candidates to conduct a project that
will focus on the interplay between the program of DNA replication and cellular function.
We welcome all applicants with a solid training in molecular biology and genetics.
Candidates with experience using yeast as a model system are strongly encouraged to apply,
as well as those with a background in cell cycle regulation and DNA replication. This work
will use a combination of methodologies, including genomic (microarray and next-generation
sequencing) and single molecule analyses of DNA replication, as well as high-resolution livecell
imaging. This position is funded by the ATIP-Avenir program of the CNRS/INSERM.
Research at the IGDR covers a wide variety of subjects in the area of cell biology and
genetics, with a strong emphasis on promoting interdisciplinary approaches while taking
advantage of most classical model systems. With 20 teams and approximately 200
researchers, the IGDR provides a dynamic and international scientific environment. The
working language of the laboratory and the institute is English. For more information, please
see: http://igdr.univ-rennes1.fr/english/.
The IGDR is located in the vibrant city of Rennes, the capital of the Brittany region in
northwestern France. Rennes is ideally located for access to Paris (2 hours by train) as well as
to the beautiful coast of Brittany (from 45 minutes by car). With a rich tradition in arts and
culture, Rennes was named in 2012 the city in France where it is the most pleasant to live.
Candidates should contact Dr. Jenny Wu at pei-yun.wu@univ-rennes1.fr. To apply, please
send a letter describing your interest in this research as well as a Curriculum Vitae (CV)
detailing your publications and past research experiences. Applicants should also request
letters of recommendation to be sent directly by two or three referenc
