MINECO’s latest communication: application deadline SEPTEMBER 10th 2013
Join us study how neurons select and establish connections with their
appropriate synaptic partners, under the research project BFU2012-32282:
“Genomics and Genetics of Synaptic Specificity” funded by MINECO. We
address synaptic specificity by studying two closely related neurons that differ in
their connectivity: the R7 and R8 photoreceptors of the fly eye. Our previous
work revealed cell specific transcription factors regulating R7 and R8 wiring.
Using RNAseq, we have identified differentially expressed genes between these
two neurons. We are gearing up to test the requirement of differentially
expressed candidate genes and to characterize the transcriptional network
regulating their expression.
