Postdoctoral positions NYC WCMC
McGraw lab - Biochemistry
Postdoctoral position
Project: Studies of insulin action in adipocytes. The work entails using
molecular cell biological methods and quantitative fluorescence microscopy
to dissect the mechanism by which insulin regulates the trafficking of the
glut4 glucose transporter to the plasma membrane. This process is key for
the regulation of whole body glucose homeostasis. The process is
disrupted in insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes. The position is
available immediately. Contact: temcgraw@med.cornell.edu

Postdoctoral position
Project: Studies of the GIP incretin hormone system. GIP is a hormone
produced by K-cells of the gastrointestinal track in response to food.
GIP has a critical role in setting the tone of insulin response. The
project entails using molecular cell biological methods and quantitative
fluorescence microscopy to study the GIP/GIP receptor in cultured
adipocytes. The position is available immediately. Contact:

McGraw and Altorki Lab - Biochemistry and CT Surgery
Postdoctoral position. Project: Studies of the roles of fibroblasts in
lung cancer. The project entails using mass spectrometry and RNAseq
methods to establish a pro-tumorigenic profile of tumor-promoting
fibroblasts. The pro-tumorigenic profile will be validated and tested in
cell-based and animal studies. The objective of this work is to identify
fibroblasts activities that promote tumorigenic, with the long-term
objective of developing methods to therapeutically target these
activities. The position is available immediately. Contact:
