Postdoctoral research position

A postdoctoral research position is immediately available in Dr. Hector
Peinado's newly established laboratory within Dr. David Lyden's lab at
Weill Cornell Medical College, New York. Our laboratory focuses on the
study of tumor-secreted exosomes in tumor metastasis. We are interested in
analyzing the role of tumor-secreted factors in the crosstalk between the
tumor and the microenvironment during metastasis (Peinado et. al Nature
Medicine. 2012. (18): 883-891.). We use multi-disciplinary approaches
including biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology,
mass-spectrometry, assymetric flow fractionation, clinical/translational
research, and mouse genetics in our studies. We are equipped with a
state-of-the-art laboratory to conduct the analysis of exosome molecular
cargo and define their role in tumor metastasis with the ultimate goal of
developing early diagnosis and treatment strategies to block metastases.

We are looking to recruit a highly motivated scientist with a Ph.D. in
cellular/molecular biology, biochemistry and cancer models with the
appropriate experience and track record in the fields of cancer and
metastasis. Will be highly recommended to have experience in in vitro
(cell culture, 3D cultures), in vivomouse cancer/metastasis models,
clinical/translational research and flow cytometry. While this project is
currently funded by the Paduano Foundation, an integral part of
postdoctoral training is the process of preparing a research proposal and
writing a fellowship application. The Postdoctoral Fellow will be
encouraged to apply for external funding as soon as it is practical and
reasonable after hire.

Applications with CV, cover letter, and names of three referees should be
sent to:
