EuTRiPD is a European network in academic, public and private sectors that will provide a unique opportunity for a total of 12 researchers in early stages of their careers to study emerging research topics in the field of Peritoneal Dialysis and receive training to enhance their research skills, under the prestigious scheme of a Marie Curie Initial Training Network.
Your activities
You will work as PhD student at the Amsterdam EuTRiPD partner (others are Vienna, Poznan, Strasbourg, Cardiff, Heidelberg, Madrid, Berlin and Brussels). The research is all on different aspects of PD (in vitro studies; in vivo studies; clinical studies (data bank)). Every PhD student has their own project with the goal leading to a PhD thesis. Every six months the whole EuTRiPD group comes together for training and exchange in research at the institute of one of the EuTRiPD partners. Within the period of 36 months candidates also spend 4-6 months visiting one of the EuTRiPD collaborating partners and participate in a private sector secondment (ensuring intersectoral involvement).
Your profile
You have completed a study in biomedical science or medicine and are interested in a challenging PhD programme. You have no or less than four years working experience in research and are willing to work in a setting outside your home country.
Conditions of employment
Salary according European regulations for Adjunct-researchers there above a mobility allowance is given.
Duration: 20 months at Amsterdam EuTRiPD partner
This is a full-time position (hours differ per country)
Specialities
This position applies a “mobility” rule. The candidate must not have worked for more than
12 months in the country where he/she applies within the last three years. Furthermore, the candidate needs to be in the first four years of his/her research career. The four years are counted from the date the degree was obtained which formally entitles to embark on a doctorate.
At this moment a position is again available in Amsterdam for a period of 20 months per October 1st, 2013. The hired ESR will start in a running project that does research in anti-inflammatory intervention in a rat PD model as well as in human in vitro studies.
