Uppsala University hereby declares the following positions to be open for application:

Postdoctoral fellow in Epigenetics

At the Department of Medical Biochemistry and Microbiology, IMBIM. The position is available as soon as possible for a period of two years.

Duties: The candidate will work in a research group that uses Schizosaccharomyces pombe, or fission yeast, as a model to understand fundamental cellular processes with a focus on epigenetic mechanisms. The position mostly concerns practical laboratory work and the candidate is expected to learn and improve established techniques as well as to set up new ones. Within the duties of the position is also to supervise undergraduate students as well as aiding in the lab management. Moreover, the candidate is anticipated to be involved in the theoretical part of the project, to drive the project forward, by setting up new testable hypothesis based on results obtained within the frame of the project.

Qualifications required: To be eligible for this position, the applicant must hold a Ph.D in Molecular Biology or comparable, preferably with a focus on yeast genetics or biochemistry. Excellent spoken and written English is required. You have to be able to work both independently as well as a part of a team. We are looking for someone with a suitable personality.

Applicants must have received their Ph.D within the past 3 years from the application deadline.
