Post Doctoral Research Associate in Optical Superresolution Imaging of Virus Replication

Departments: Department of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology and the Department of Pathology
Applications are invited for a Post Doctoral Research Associate position to work on a collaborative inter-disciplinary research project between the Department of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology and the Department of Pathology.

The successful candidate will join Professor Clemens Kaminski's research group (Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology) with extensive interactions with Dr Colin Crump's research group (Pathology) to develop super-resolution microscopy for the analysis of virus replication.

Candidates should hold a PhD, or equivalent qualification, and have a track record of success in biomedical and/or biophysical research. Candidates will need to demonstrate extensive prior experience in cell biology techniques and fluorescence microscopy imaging, as well as a keen interest in learning and developing quantitative imaging techniques for application to biological questions. Some experience in handling biosafety level 2 material and state of the art microscopy approaches such as super-resolution and multi-parameter imaging would be beneficial, although not essential, as training will be provided in these techniques.
