OPEN POSITION AT IRB BARCELONA- RESEARCH ASSISTANT

RESEARCH ASSISTANT (ref.LAB/13/02)

IRB Barcelona is a self-standing, non-profit institution devoted to basic and applied
biomedical research. It was set up in 2005 jointly by the Government of Catalonia and
the University of Barcelona and is located at the Barcelona Science Park. The institute
currently has more than 425 members (scientific, technical and administrative staff)
from all over the world, who work across disciplines to advance research in the
biomedical sciences.
The Adult Stem Cell and Cancer group headed by Salvador Aznar Benitah aims at
understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying the spatiotemporal regulation of
epidermal stem cells in the healthy tissue, and how these are deregulated during
aging and cancer.

DUTIES
 To assist all members of the lab in the analysis of mouse models
 To assist all members of the lab in performing large-scale genomic and
proteomic data, as well as in conventional molecular biology
 Lab maintenance and management; organization of the laboratory
 Assisting senior researchers and working on independent research projects

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
 Highly independent, motivated, ambitious, and collaborative person
 Strong background in working with mouse models
 Strong background in molecular and cellular biology will be an advantage
 Strong background in FACS analysis and sorting will be an advantage
 Good organizational and communication skills
 Candidate must be fluent in English
