The
"Symbiosis and redox state" group at the Sophia Agrobiotech Institute
(ISA, UMR 1355 INRA / University of Nice – Sophia Antipolis / 7254 CNRS) is
seeking a highly motivated post-doctoral scientist for
two years to join a National Research Agency (ANR) project entitled “ChAnnels
and Reactive Oxygen species in Legume root hair: role in Symbiosis with
Rhizobium” (CAROLS).
The
ISA research unit is part of the SignaLife Labex and is located in the Sophia
Antipolis technopole, with a well sound scientific environment (CNRS, INRA,
University).
The
postdoc will work in tight interaction with the two partners of the project
situated in Montpellier (BPMP, Hervé Sentenac) and Gif sur Yvette (ISV,
Jean-Marie Frachisse), allowing the best use of the know-how of each project
participant.
The
aim of the project is (i) to identify root hair plasma membrane channels from
the Medicago truncatula model plant,
(ii) to evaluate their regulation by reactive oxygen species and (iii) to
perform a functional analysis of selected candidates during the symbiotic
interaction with Sinorhizobium meliloti.
During
the project, the post-doctoral scientist will study the regulation of root hair
channels by NADPH oxidase-driven reactive oxygen species and its role in the
symbiotic interaction.
He/she
should have good expertise in molecular physiology (from gene cloning to
functional analysis through mutant/transgenic plant characterization). A
previous experience in imaging would be appreciated.
Application,
including a detailed CV, a brief summary of research interests, names and
addresses of two referees, should be addressed to Pr. Alain Puppo.
